Do I need to book an appointment?

Bookings are necessary for all visits. Our reception team are available to assist with all information, so feel free to phone.

Bookings can be made by phone, in person or by email.

Initial Physiotherapy and Clinical Supervised Exercise assessments are 40 minutes in length, follow-up Physiotherapy appointments are in 30 minute intervals. Clinical Supervised Exercise sessions last 70 minutes.

Health rebates apply for participating funds only for Physiotherapy and Clinical Supervised Exercise services.

Is a referral necessary?

No, a referral is not necessary if you are receiving treatment as a private patient. If you have been involved in a motor vehicle accident, or been involved in a work related injury then you will need to see your GP before seeking Physiotherapy treatment. Also if you are receiving treatment under the Enhanced Primary Care Program Medicare Program then you will need to have a referral from the GP.

I’m a War Veteran. Can I receive Treatment at Silas St. Physio + Clinical Supervised Exercise?

All the Physiotherapists at Silas Street have sufficient insurance to provide services to war veterans. Please bring your DVA card with you on your first treatment and a valid GP referral.

Can I use my private health fund?

Both Physiotherapy and Clinical Supervised Exercise services can be covered by private health insurance. Please check with your health fund to determine your level of coverage. At Silas St Physio + Clinical Supervised Exercise we have hicaps facilities and your treatment can be paid directly by your health fund on the date of treatment. We accept cash, cheque, MasterCard, Visa, and Eftpos for the balance of payment. We would appreciate payment on the day of treatment.

What time should I arrive?

To enjoy the full value of your service with us, we suggest that you arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment time. This allows you to check in, enjoy refreshments, and change (if required). All new clients will need to complete personal detail forms. Bring any scans, reports or history that you may have

What if I’m running late?

Arriving late may unfortunately shorten your treatment time. We regret keeping any client waiting, therefore we need to adhere to all booking times.

What if I can’t make the appointment?

A fee will be incurred on all services cancelled if less than 24 hours notice is provided, unless there are extenuating circumstances.

What should I wear for the session?

Our primary concern is your total care. When seeing a Physiotherapist some clothing may need to be removed. If having a massage, clothing will also need to be removed. Our Professional Therapists are trained to drape towels and sheets to ensure your complete comfort and relaxation. Comfortable clothing is recommended for Clinical Supervised Exercise and it is recommended you bring socks and a towel for your personal hygiene.

Can I use my mobile phone?

To ensure that all clients have a stress free time with us we respectfully request that noise is kept to a minimum. Mobile phones, pagers and any other electronic devices are not suitable to our environment and we ask that you do not use them in the clinic. All devices are to be turned off before entering the premises. We appreciate your cooperation.

Do I need to accompany my child to treatment?

An adult must accompany clients 16 years of age and under during a consultation. We are strictly a non smoking environment. If you have a preference for a male or female Physiotherapist, please advise our reception team when making your booking.
