What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy uses a wide variety of techniques to help your body work to its full potential. It can help to repair injury by optimising the healing process, reducing pain and stiffness and increasing mobility and stability of the Musculoskeletal system where indicated.
Common problems
Virtually any condition that affects your muscles, joints or nerves can be helped with Physiotherapy. Common problems include, back and neck pain, including whiplash, sports injuries, arthritis, over use injuries and women’s health.
Treatments
Before any treatment is undertaken, the Physiotherapists at Silas Street will fully assess your condition, diagnose the problem and help you to understand what is wrong.
After this initial assessment a variety of treatments may be appropriate, which can include any, some or all of the following:
- Joint Mobilisation and Manipulation
- Deep Tissue Massage
- Trigger Point Release
- Myofascial Release
- Exercise Programs
- Heat and Cold
- Electrotherapy
- Dry Needling (Acupuncture)
- Education about your condition
- Postural Retraining
